Let's compare two cutures

In my previous writing of Switzerland, I used to Colombia as a contrast y to tell similarities. It could be very useful because it probably help us up to know easier the European nation. This time we will get back to compare the cultures of these two countries using the Hofstade's cultural dimensions. They are six indices that show some aspects of the culture in a country. These indices are: power distance, masculinity, indulgence, long term orientation, individualism and uncertainty avoidance. 

Now I will show you a graph with the cultural dimensions of Colombia vs. Switzerland.

                                   

Wow! you can see quite a difference between the developed country and the South American. let's start with the most similar that it's about we talked the last week. Switzerland is very traditional with a patriarchal social structure while in Colombia also we can see the same culture focused on results more than better relations.

The dimentions more uneven are individualism and long term orientation. Colombian people can be much more patriotic than Swiss while Switzerland as a European country is much more long-term oriented than Colombia. Now let's look up at power distance index. This could show us the great diference between a developed country and a under development country as a Latin American. In comparison, this index between the two countries could even be complements of each other, with the South American being the one that is far superior in hierarchical inequality.
